CBP Releases ACE Development Schedule

CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) has released several updates on the ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) development and deployment schedule in the past few years. The most recent update was published on August 28, 2023, which reflects the planned ACE enhancements that have been prioritized and funded, and that CBP has begun developing. This is a notional schedule, and it is subject to modifications.

Some of the highlights of the schedule are:

1. Enhancements to ACE Truck Manifest – Phase 2 and Phase 3, which will modernize the ACE truck manifest user interface and functionality for both CBP and trade users.
2. ACE Portal Modernization – Phase 2, which will transition additional ACE Portal capabilities to the modernized ACE Portal, including document upload/management, create and edit functionality for all accounts and supporting data, blanket declarations, broker modernization functionality, and broker reporting updates.
3. Broker Modernization – Updates to Broker Reporting, which will enhance the process for trade users to communicate broker and permit information to CBP and enable CBP to manage broker administration compliance at the national level.
