Eastern Lends a Hand at RMHC-CNI’s Sporting Clays Tournament

September 24, 2025

On September 19–20, 2025, Eastern team members volunteered at the Sporting Clays Tournament presented by Turano and QSR Soft at Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville, IL. The two-day event raised more than $335,000 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI).

The event offered a variety of engaging activities for participants and volunteers, including silent auctions, swag bags, catered breakfast and lunch, interactive stations, side events with prizes, and team challenges. Attendees navigated two course options—premium and regular—each featuring multiple stations designed to test focus, coordination, and teamwork, along with the ever-popular Double Trouble bonus station.

What is Sporting Clays?

Sporting clays is an outdoor activity often compared to “golf with a twist” because participants move through a course with multiple stations, navigating different challenges along natural terrain. Each station offers a unique test of skill, timing, and strategy, providing a fun and engaging experience for participants of all skill levels.

The Role of Kids & Clays

The event was made possible in part through Kids & Clays, a foundation that supports Ronald McDonald House Charities nationwide by helping organize events and providing logistical support. Kids & Clays donates merchandise and support services at no charge, allowing RMHC-CNI to keep 100% of the event proceeds.

RMHC-CNI’s Lasting Impact
Events like this directly support RMHC-CNI’s mission to keep families close to their hospitalized children. In 2024 alone:

  • 4,814 children were served across Chicagoland
  • 51,231 nights of housing were provided, easing the financial and emotional stress of long hospital stays

  • 128,630 meals were served to families in need

  • Families stayed an average of 16 nights, gaining stability, comfort, and support when they needed it most

Beyond housing and meals, RMHC-CNI provides a caring community, helping families focus on what matters most—the health and healing of their child.

Eastern is proud to support RMHC-CNI and volunteer alongside community partners to strengthen families, remove barriers, and promote healing when children need care.
